Noticed that Speedicars have what can only be described as a 'marquee' amongst the car boot stalls. It was festooned with inappropriate signage.
Spotted a well-dressed man with a wry smile and holding a glass of Pimms on the bouncy castle.
Excellent afternoon. Thank you so much to the organisers.
It was fantastic, wasn't it! As ever, I came home with a good haul - books, pottery, plants, etc. Oh and Andalucian olive oil! Really great to see so many people out enjoying themselves. Congratulations to BrocSoc on a wonderful day.
I missed the olive oil people - are they the ones where you can be ultra-green and bring along your own bottle to have it filled?
Nice to see a good, old-fashioned tug o' war. The team in the village that I grew up in was well-renowned, but then they used to practice against a tractor - and would sometimes beat it!
Meant, by the way, to put an ironic smiley with my (removed) post about Hillaballoo - it is a very different and much more low key affair.
Saw the elusive JPM doing is bit by cleaning up the park at the end of the day. Great community spirit.
For the pedants that should read 'his'.
How do you know it was him?
I thought the fayre was much better than last year, Still not keen on the 'neon' funfair rides but I think there was a slight increase in the variety of food on offer. The queues were pretty bad, i failed to get an ice cream :o(
The barbeque was very good - nice hotdogs.
Tamsin - I think she does refills, yes - I've got her card, would you like me to dig it out and let you have her contact details?
Thanks - and don't worry with the contact details. They put a piece in the Hilly Telegraph a couple of issues ago so I can get the number from there.
A very enjoyable afternoon.
The highlight for me was the hawk display, and in particular the peregrine falcon. It was quite something to see it swooping down from several hundred feet up, zooming in towards the lure at an incredible speed and coming within a few centimetres of the crowd's heads in the process. Awesome.
Hi Quick Brown Fox, speaking of this event, I had a chat with the BXAG about your skills - could you drop me an email please, if you have some time?
Thanks
I'm pretty good at catching squirrels, if I do say so myself, but I'm not sure I've mentioned that or any of my other skills on this forum - could you be mixing me up with another fox? I know we all look alike to you humans.
Oh yes I am, sorry! Too many foxes on this site!
I'm sure you're very talented though.
